Seeks qualified applicants for the following Public Works Full-time, Non-civil service positions:
LABORER / MAINTENANCE HELPER — Performs general to skilled labor and maintenance on grounds, equipment, property, facilities and parks, community, and weather-related events. Maintains grounds by mowing and trimming grass, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, tree and limb maintenance and removal, drainage work, applying herbicide as needed, removing trash, mulching, watering, weeding, and plant maintenance. Starting pay $12.51/hr. Provided benefits include but are not limited to; health insurance, group life insurance, and wellness program. Paid time off including; vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application): High School diploma or GED, or 3 months experience as Laborer or similar position (preferably in grounds maintenance), or equivalent amount of education/experience accepted. Valid driver’s license required; Valid CDL, Class B or higher required after hire. Kentucky Pesticide License preferred. Education/experience preferred in welding, carpentry, plumbing, equipment operations, tree work, landscaping, grounds maintenance.
ROADWORKER — Performs various construction and road work duties, such as working with asphalt, dirt, concrete; Maintains street and traffic signs, and street striping; Drives/operates various equipment/vehicles; Performs snow and water removal. Starting pay $13.51/hr. Provided benefits include but are not limited to; health insurance, group life insurance, and wellness program. Paid time off including; vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application): High school diploma or GED, and 6 months experience in road work, general labor, equipment operator, or similar position. Equivalent amount of education and/or full-time work experience is acceptable. Valid driver’s license required. Valid CDL, Class B or higher, required after hire.
SANITATION DRIVER — Responsible for becoming qualified and operating as part of a crew and/or driving multiple solid-waste collection trucks, dump trucks, or any other equipment associated with the department. Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Public service-oriented personality a must. Starting pay $15.76/hr. Provided benefits include but are not limited to; health insurance, group life insurance, and wellness program. Paid time off including; vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application): High school diploma or GED; Valid driver’s license and valid CDL, Class B or higher, required at time of application. Experience as a CDL driver preferred.
