SUMMARY: The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the day-to-day functions associated with being a Quality and Lean Manager. This position encompasses responsibility for the design and implementation of the quality procedures and policies of the company. The primary responsibility of the individual in this position is to ensure that proper procedures are in place to consistently and effectively adhere to strict quality standards relative to both the company and the customer, and to serve as a facilitator of Kaizen and other activities that will drive Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality throughout the organization and lead cultural change that supports the technical implementation of Lean. To qualify as a Quality/Lean Manager an individual must be able to perform all of the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the company’s ISO 9000 quality management system, such as developing, administrating and maintaining the program, training/coaching employees and facilitating change throughout the organization. Responsible for establishing ISO procedures and work instructions at all levels. Perform and report on internal and/or external ISO quality system audits. Collects quality related data and analyzes using statistical techniques and distributes reports to various users in the organization. Facilitate activities related to continuous improvement. Formalize and administer continuous improvement activities that will drive Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality throughout the organization by: Helping to prepare value stream maps Identify critical areas for improvement Establish improvement goals and objectives Schedule events Measure results Establishing standard reporting routines Responsible for dealing with customers on quality related issues. Design all process control procedures by department to assure consistent performance in production and delivery of products. Train or assist in the training of all personnel in proper performance of duties to be consistent with established Quality Management System. Develop and/or maintain programs that promote communication of quality standards and problem solving through employee training. Manage and train ISO Internal Audit Team to ensure their effectiveness and accuracy. Maintain Quality Manual and related process documents to conform to latest ISO 9000 standards. Establish procedures to monitor and survey vendor and subcontractor performance. Assist in performing audits and surveys of vendor’s performance. Oversee special quality requirements as specified in contract documents. Develop and maintain written Quality Work Instructions, which includes operator fabrication procedures and welding procedures and assist others in its use. Seek solutions to all customer complaints while maintaining good customer relations. Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those when reassigned or transferred and regardless of whether duties are related to his/her normal duties.

Qualifications:
Certified ISO Lead Auditor or 1 to 3 years’ experience working in an ISO 9000 environment.

Education:
A minimum of an Associate’s degree from in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Experience:
1- 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. 3 -5 years working in an environment that embraces Lean techniques.
