Job Responsibilities

Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
May communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and/or to confirm appointments.
Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
May be responsible for managing the referral work queue, entering patient demographic information and scanning documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
May correspond with referring providers and/or patients for reports, information exchange, scheduling, x-rays and paperwork.
May provide administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners.
