FLSA Status: Exempt / $31,000-$33,000 per year

SUMMARY

Coordinates food service activities of cafeteria by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Cost Goals :
Responsible for entire Profit & Loss for account, including meeting cost control goals in the areas of waste, labor and product.

Responsible for obtaining budgeted profit goals.

General :
Responsible for maintaining accurate and orderly production records.

Responsible for counting inventory.

Maintains knowledge of menu pricing structures.

Communicates issues or problems as they arise to Area Food Manager.

Orders products and supplies and checks cost of each item to ensure accuracy.

Responsible for cash handling from cafeteria cash register.

Establishes good rapport with service location employees to ensure customer satisfaction through verbal communication and by providing excellent service.

Responsible for total daily operations (all Shifts) of cafeteria and communication of daily priorities. Inspects kitchen and dining areas, kitchen utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.

Confers with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities.

Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.

Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.

Implements all established programs, monthly promotions, special theme days, new items and policy and procedures, changes etc.

Responsible to perform all job duties in a safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities : Directly supervises multiple employees in the Cafeteria. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience : Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent for a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills : Proficient with Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel programs for use in menu programming and standard programming. The ability to effectively communicate via an e-mail system.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Food Sanitation Certification
