Position Title: Compliance Staff Assistant

Supervision Received: Position reports to Compliance Officer

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Summary: Independence Bank seeks a reliable HMDA and Fair Lending Clerk
to join our Fair Lending team. The
successful candidate will have quick typing skills, an analytical mind,
exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for precision. The position is responsible for collection
and maintenance of data to assist the Fair Lending Officer in analysis, review,
and accurate reporting of CRA & HMDA data.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited

to:
Review all loans for proper
HMDA and CRA documentation

Review all consumer loans for
underwriting exceptions

Insure
all missing HMDA/CRA/underwriting documents are requested and received
from lenders

Check
HMDA/CRA/underwriting documents for proper completion and accuracy

Geocode
HMDA and CRA files monthly

Review
HMDA and CRA exceptions and correct outstanding items as needed

Review
non-originated applications received daily to determine if HMDA applies

Obtain
proper documents from lenders and check for accuracy on non-originated
applications

Retain
all non-originated loan applications

Assist
with other work in the department as needed

Knowledge Preferred to

Perform Essential Job Functions:
In depth knowledge of compliance documentation

In depth knowledge of loan documentation

In depth knowledge of HMDA and CRA requirements

to deal effectively with the personnel of other departments within the
bank

Good reasoning skills

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
required

Minimum of 1 year experience in
accounting, banking, or relevant field

Physical Requirements of Essential Job

Functions:
While performing the
duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit,
communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. Minimal physical
exertion. Duties involve moving materials weighting up to 10 pounds on a
regular basis and up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and
coordination are required over 75% of the work period while operating equipment
such as computer keyboard, mouse, 10-key calculator, phone, and similar
machines.

Working Conditions:
Indoor, environmentally controlled, usual office working
conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office
environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
