TITLE: Tool Room Repair
DEPARTMENT Tool Room
REPORTS TO: Tool Room Lead
FLSA STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
MISSION : To ensure that customers receive a quality die cast product by maintaining the casting and trim dies in good repair through proper preventive care and regular maintenance.
ESSENTIAL GOALS, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tears down dies for maintenance.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
Uses stoning tools to repair pins.
Performs general welding for repairs and maintenance.
Uses sandblasting equipment to clean dies.
Demonstrates good organization skills.
Able to work weekends and overtime as required.
Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Follows all aspects of Safety as described in GDC Safety Roles and Expectations.
Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.
Follows all TS16949 and ISO 14001 guidelines.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 7-S Guidelines.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or willingness to obtain the required education.
Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematics: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry or trigonometry.
Reasoning and Problem Solving: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Training: Must have successfully completed or be willing to complete blueprint reading, geometric tolerance classes, and any other training as prescribed by the tool room manager or operations manager.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Manufacturing software.
Other Requirements: CNC experience desired but not required for entry into position.
