The Mortgage Servicing division of U.S. Bank is seeking a Loss Mitigation Manager to lead a government underwriting team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of investor and internal guidelines and loss mitigation underwriting. Additionally, the candidate will possess proven leadership skills in coaching, developing and holding employees accountable to performance standards.
Duties:
– Manages a team of 30+ people including supervisory personnel
– Monitors reports, timelines and department expectations
– Responds to audit items and investor inquiries
– Ensures department is meeting expectations on regulatory requirements and loan decisioning
– Upholds department’s investor scorecard grades and takes action and works with peer departments as appropriate to resolve known issues
– Establishes and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with various regulatory, investor, government and corporate requirements
– Provides support to department manager and carries out other assigned duties and projects
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
– Nine to ten years of experience in mortgage servicing or operations activities
– Five or more years of managerial experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
– Thorough understanding of all aspects of Default Management loan workout and loan servicing support functions along with the associated operational policies and practices
– Strong analytical and decision-making skills
– Good organizational and project management skills
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
– Well-developed knowledge of human resources functions
– Strong supervisory and management skills
– Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
